Yashobhoomi Wins International Architecture Award 2025

Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) in Dwarka, New Delhi, has received the International Architecture Award 2025 in the Civic Centers category. The award, presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, recognizes outstanding global architectural achievements from over 1,200 entries. The honor will be formally bestowed at a gala near the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2023, Yashobhoomi spans 225 acres with a built-up area of 2.2 million square feet, ranking among the world’s three largest convention centers. Designed by CP Kukreja Architects in collaboration with IDOM, the project integrates advanced technology, Indian cultural motifs, and sustainability features, earning a Platinum rating from the Indian Green Building Council. Key elements include a main auditorium for over 6,000 people with retractable seating, a grand ballroom for 2,300 guests, 15 convention rooms, flexible exhibition halls covering 1.07 lakh square meters, and Asia’s largest 100,000-square-foot external LED video wall.

The center supports over 11,000 delegates and connects seamlessly to Delhi’s metro network with pedestrian zones, EV charging points, rainwater harvesting, and 100% wastewater reuse. It hosted the G20 Summit and embodies India’s vision for world-class infrastructure blending functionality, aesthetics, and environmental integration. Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s role in conceptualizing the project.
