The Cartographies of Remembrance exhibition, presented by Studio Catalyst by Anant Art, views the contemporary city as an evolving palimpsest. Instead of treating the city as finished, the exhibition presents it as a landscape that constantly changes. The group art exhibition in New Delhi frames the city as an ever-shifting canvas, scraped clean and rewritten over time while still retaining previous histories. Each participating artist probes how the overwhelming vastness of a metropolis can be distilled into highly intimate, deeply reflective stories.
Memory, Architecture and Urban Life
The artists move between individual and collective memories. Moreover, they explore domestic spaces, childhood nostalgia, and everyday encounters. Highlighting works like Dakshayani Chippada’s Echoes of Presence – 2 (2026), the show examines how architectural remnants and everyday materials hold or distort memory over time. Through these poignant visual explorations, even the most mundane fragments of urban life become potent sites of belonging and profound absence.
Studio Catalyst’s Vision
This exhibition represents the latest showcase under the banner of Studio Catalyst, a progressive two-year initiative launched by Anant Art in 2025. Studio Catalyst works as an incubator rather than a traditional gallery. As a result, emerging artists receive curatorial mentorship, residency opportunities, and peer networks. By prioritizing infrastructures of care, the developmental programme ensures that these rising voices can challenge conventional boundaries and thrive on their own terms.
