Arthshila Delhi presents ‘Duniya Parchhaiyon Ki’, a major exhibition focused on the lasting impact and enigmatic charm of Hindi cinema. The showcase is on display from September 28, 2025, to January 4, 2026 at Arthshila Delhi, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi. Entry is open to all members of the public.
Exhibition Overview
Jointly organized by Arthshila Delhi and the Takshila Educational Society (TES), the exhibition brings together over 120 artefacts from the Takshila Art Collection—including film posters, song booklets, lobby cards, and a range of other ephemera—representing the cultural memory and emotional resonance of Hindi cinema. Arthshila, which maintains multi-city centres in Ahmedabad, Santiniketan, Patna, Goa, and Delhi, is recognized for its commitment to educational and artistic engagement across India.
Curation and Programming
The exhibition is curated by Ashish Rajadhyaksha, a noted film historian and art curator. Rajadhyaksha is best known as co-author of the Encyclopaedia of Indian Cinema and has an extensive background in curating significant film- and art-based projects, including at Tate Modern and Kochi-Muziris Biennale. ‘Duniya Parchhaiyon Ki’ is designed to immerse visitors in the intangible experience of cinema, intertwining physical artefacts with sound and moving images to evoke the cultural and generational echoes of Indian films.
To complement the main exhibition, Arthshila Delhi will host additional public programming such as film screenings, Dastangoi performances, panel discussions, and related events, offering multiple entry points for audiences to explore Hindi cinema’s influence and legacy.

Statement from the Curator
Ashish Rajadhyaksha describes the exhibition as a tribute to cinephiles and emphasizes the enduring role of cinema in shaping cultural identities within India. He notes that the chosen posters and artefacts serve to rekindle memories from the 1970s to the 1990s, and act as “windows into a wider representation of what cinema was, and what it continued to mean for millions of Indians”.
