Artisans nationwide contribute 1×1 metre pieces inspired by the Preamble’s ideals—liberty, equality, justice, and fraternity. Honouring Dr Ambedkar in his birth month, the show links constitutional values to craft’s diverse unity and supports livelihoods through direct sales.

Exhibition Overview

Hamari Virasat gathers these textiles as a collective expression. They reflect how constitutional principles live in the hands of artisans.

Constitutional Spirit in Crafts

The Indian Constitution unites a diverse nation, much as the handmade sector does. Nearly 200 million artisans create with freedom and identity across regions. “The Constitution holds together the idea of India; diverse yet united,” the foundation notes.

This mirrors craft practices in every community. Artisans shape forms, materials, and expressions with dignity and purpose. Hamari Virasat spotlights this parallel on the cusp of the Constitution’s 77th year from 26 January 2026.

Artworks and Artisan Impact

The work in textile art show reflects constitutional values through craft. Contributors hail from India’s length and breadth. The show forms a collective voice on how these ideals thrive in handmade traditions.

It also underscores livelihoods and women’s roles in the sector. Proceeds from sales go straight to artists. This boosts their economic independence and sustains practices.
