Vayu – Design for Living opened its new store in New Delhi’s Lodhi Market in December 2025. The event featured a craft-led showcase attended by members of the craft, design, and cultural community.
Event Highlights and Attendees
The evening drew collectors, painters, architects, and cultural leaders. Notable attendees included Lekha Poddar, founder of Devi Art Foundation; Reha Sodhi, curatorial advisor at The Gujral Foundation; Mala Singh, author and historian; Rajat Sodhi, architect; artists Martand Khosla, Subodh Gupta, and Jenjum Gadi; designers Hanut Singh, Eeshaan Kashyap, Gaurav Jagtiani, and Simran Lal, CEO of Good Earth; Nikhil Khanna, executive chairman of Avian We; Rajkumari Janaki Kumari of Alwar; Anita Bajaj from the UN; and Chef Julia Carmen Desa, co-owner of Tres and Dos.
Guests viewed a curated selection of textiles, ceramics, paper mâché objects, woodwork, glass pieces, and design-led accents from various Indian craft lineages.
New Store Features
The reopened space introduces a renewed layout for clearer observation of craftsmanship details. It includes a dedicated gallery for upcoming showcases of emerging artists’ works. The arrangement emphasizes material traditions and thoughtful display over retail turnover.

Vayu’s Mission
Vayu – Design for Living, a New Delhi-based space, bridges Indian craft traditions with contemporary expression. It collaborates with master artisans, emerging artists, and creatives through exhibitions, projects, and initiatives focused on preservation, innovation, and dialogue. The store promotes material literacy, maker engagement, and craft as an evolving practice, strengthening Lodhi Market’s role as a cultural hub.
