Divine Manifestation: Meena Sansanwal’s Solo Exhibition in New Delhi

Black Cube Gallery, New Delhi, presents Divine Manifestation, a solo exhibition by artist Meena Sansanwal, on view from 7 to 22 January 2026. Curated by Sanya Malik, the exhibition will remain open Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 to 6 pm.

The exhibition brings together nearly a decade of Sansanwal’s work, spanning paintings, papier-mâché sculptures, and mixed-media installations. Divine Manifestation explores her long-standing engagement with the female form as a site of divinity, transformation, and spiritual symbolism. Her artworks construct an intricate visual cosmology in which the feminine principle—conceived as Shakti and Prakriti—emerges as the source from which all forms and energies flow.

Sansanwal’s visual language draws on mythic archetypes, nature, and the cycles of life, weaving together images of women, animals, and landscapes into hybrid, symbolic forms. Her use of bright colors, rhythmic patterns, and organic symmetries reflects a dialogue between the conscious and subconscious mind, where art becomes an act of catharsis and introspection.

Born in 1971, Meena Sansanwal graduated and post-graduated in painting from the Delhi College of Art in 1994 and 1997, respectively. Deeply rooted in Indian cultural motifs and folk imagery, her vibrant and intuitive practice blends tradition with contemporary sensibility. Through her works, Sansanwal explores the union of nature, body, and cosmos—portraying the feminine as both earthly and divine.

Divine Manifestation offers a glimpse into Sansanwal’s evolving inner world, where imagination and meditation converge in luminous, layered compositions that reflect the artist’s continual journey toward self-discovery and spiritual consciousness.
