‘Art in Motion’ Brings Together Three Delhi Artists at Bikaner House

Kalamkar Gallery at Bikaner House, New Delhi, is hosting Art in Motion, a group exhibition featuring works by Delhi-based artists Ashoka Sarkar, Rekha Jaggi, and Shashi Kumar Paul. The exhibition opened with a preview on December 18, 2025, and remains on view from December 19 to 22, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Art in Motion brings together three distinct artistic voices, each exploring different dimensions of contemporary urban experience. Through painting and sculpture, the show reflects on movement, transformation, and the relationship between humans and their built or natural environments.

Ashoka Sarkar’s canvases delve into the architectural narratives of urban spaces, combining vibrant colour palettes with abstracted representations of structural motifs such as stairs, stones, and rivers. Her compositions capture the duality of city life — its bustle and its moments of quiet reflection.

For Rekha Jaggi, Gurugram’s evolving landscape serves as both inspiration and subject. Her subdued grey tones and rhythmic brushstrokes reflect on presence and absence within urban spaces, tracing spiritual connections between nature, memory, and architecture.

Sculptor Shashi Kumar Paul adds a dynamic physicality to the exhibition through his fluid bronze and fibre forms. His works embody movement and balance, translating motion into sculptural expression that evokes both joy and tranquillity.

Together, the exhibited works form a conversation on the rhythms of contemporary life and the enduring artistic impulse to interpret change and continuity.

Art in Motion is open to the public at Kalamkar Gallery, Bikaner House, until December 22, 2025.
