Bespoke Art Gallery from Ahmedabad presents ‘VOICES’, an exhibition featuring 26 Indian and international artists at Mumbai’s prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery from July 16-24, 2025. The exhibition is curated by renowned art historian and critic Uma Nair.
Exhibition Overview
According to the official press release, VOICES will showcase a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and mixed media works that explore themes including identity, mythology, climate, tradition, conflict, and culture. The exhibition represents the Mumbai debut for Bespoke Art Gallery and brings together artistic voices from India as well as international artists from Spain, Australia, the UK, and Uzbekistan.
Featured Artists and Works
Celebrated Indian film director and artist Muzaffar Ali will showcase “Hoshruba,” a landmark horizontal composition previously exhibited in Delhi. The work features horses, which are noted as a recurring muse and metaphor in Ali’s artistic practice. Ali will also display two calligraphic pieces from a previous solo exhibition.

Among the highlighted works are two significant panoramic pieces that serve as “powerful markers of memory and meaning.” Artist Arpitha Reddy, who trained in the mural temple tradition of Guruvayoor, Kerala, will present her interpretation of the Dashavataras – the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu – through a series of vertical studies.

International Participation
The exhibition will feature works from the collection of Bespoke Art Gallery founder Devin Gawarvala, including pieces by several international artists. Notable among these are mythical tapestries by Timur D’Vatz, who won the Guinness Prize at the Royal Academy, abstract figurative works by Bobur Ismailov, bronze sculptures by Jesús Curia, and works by the artist duo Gillie & Marc.
Curatorial Vision
In the curator’s statement, Uma Nair explains the exhibition’s intent, stating that the “medley of mediums and minds in this exhibition reflects our intent to generate global synergy through art—encouraging dialogue, discovery, and deeper support for artists and their ecosystems.”
The curatorial note references art critic Jagdish Swaminathan’s concept of the “inner search in every artist for finding the significance between tradition and contemporaneity, between representation and abstraction, between communication and expression,” positioning this as the foundation for the exhibition’s eclectic approach.

Additional Highlights
Other featured works include layered Gond narratives by Bhajju Shyam, a poetic origami installation by Ankon Mitra, and sculptures by Arzan Khambatta and Harsha Durugadda.
