The Guild in Alibaug is presenting “Far Reaching Earth, Far Extending Sky, Spread like a Mat, Covered like a Bowl: The Works of Rajkumar Korram,” a major solo exhibition on view through October 23, 2025.
The exhibition features a substantial collection of works spanning sculpture, paintings, and photography by the indigenous artist. The show explores life through Korram’s perspective, drawing from nature and translating it through vivid imagery and tangible conceptualizations.
Born in 1971 in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, Rajkumar Korram is a founding member and current president of the Dialogue Interactive Artists Association (DIAA) in Kopaweda. His collaborative projects include “Chawal ki Kahani,” “Pilla Gudi,” and “Nalpar,” a collaboration between artists and community members in Bastar that has been ongoing since 2000. He has participated in multiple Samvad series seminars.

Korram has exhibited extensively in India and internationally. Notable exhibitions include “Starting from the Desert: Ecologies on the Edge” at the 2nd Yinchuan Biennale, Museum of Contemporary Art, Yinchuan, China (2018); and “Edge of Desire: Recent Art in India,” curated by Chaitanya Sambrani, which traveled to Perth, New York, Mexico City, Monterrey, Berkeley, New Delhi, and Mumbai from 2004 to 2007. He also participated in “Modes of Parallel Practice: Ways of World Making,” an interactive project at Shilpi Gram with artists Navjot Altaf and Bhanumati Padamsee, shown at Sakshi Art Gallery Mumbai and Fukuoka Asian Art Museum as part of the Asian Art Triennale. Additional exhibitions include “Communication: Channels for Hope” in Fukuoka, Japan, curated by Raiji Kuroda (1997-1998).
