Gallery Dotwalk recently presented Ruins of an Embrace, a solo exhibition by Kerala-based artist Abdulla PA, curated by theatre director and interdisciplinary artist Amitesh Grover. The exhibition ran from 20th to 28th September 2025 at Travancore Palace, New Delhi, and will open again from 4th October to 4th November 2025 at Gallery Dotwalk, Gurugram.

The exhibition gathered Abdulla’s sculptural assemblages, installations, paintings, and smaller works, using materials such as rusted tin, broken furniture, driftwood, loofah, and fruit skins—objects collected from his surroundings in Tripayar, Central Kerala. These discarded or weathered items were presented as intimate vessels of memory and kinship, extending also to portraiture where images of family members appeared on corroded metal and rusted surfaces through chemical processes.
Curator Amitesh Grover described Abdulla’s practice as one that “resonates beyond the personal,” highlighting ecological and cultural urgencies, and inviting audiences to reconsider the value of discarded materials.
