International Art Exhibition Highlights 10 Women Artists at Boscombe Arts Depot, UK

An international art exhibition featuring ten female visual artists is currently running at Boscombe Arts Depot as part of the UK/Poland 2025 Festival initiated by the British Council.

“You’re Not Alone: Women in Art 2025” runs from June 28 to August 17, 2025, open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm. The exhibition showcases artists from the South and Southwest of England, including Mahlia Amatina, Kate Bradbury, Ann Churchill, Yvonne Mabs Francis, Sarah Jane Hender, Delaine Le Bas, Kim Noble, Elinor Rowlands, Patricia Shrigley and Kwaga Sillingi.

The exhibition features painting, drawing, textiles and installation works created by self-taught, working class, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists, and by women who feel excluded because of the systems and structures that are inherent within the art world. The works navigate their relationships with each other and the communities they inhabit, whilst fostering stronger connections and advocating for further awareness of the different experiences of women artists today.

This is a unique dual-site exhibition, with a sister show running simultaneously at Muzeum Śląskie in Katowice, Poland from June 19 to October 26, 2025. The sister exhibitions present different works by the same ten artists, highlighting the breadth of women’s creativity.

The exhibition was conceived and researched by Carol Maund, Director of BEAF Arts Co. BEAF Arts Co is an artist-led organization based in Bournemouth that delivers an annual festival and ongoing programme of residences, commissions and projects. The organization operates out of B.A.D (Boscombe Arts Depot), which provides a large gallery space, theatre in the round, lounge cinema and recording studio located in a former department store in Boscombe.

BEAF Arts Co runs various community workshops throughout the year, including free women’s workshops called “Thursday Threads,” creative writing workshops with marginalized communities, and photography workshops for people who have been sidelined from society.

The Boscombe Arts Depot is located at 616-622 Christchurch Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth, BH1 4BP, in the Sovereign Shopping Centre.
