Indian Arts Corner will present “Indigenous Gond Visions,” a solo exhibition featuring works by Gond artist Kaushal Prasad Tekam, from October 28-31, 2025 at the Open Palm Court Gallery, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
The exhibition, curated by Jas Karan Gupta, showcases Tekam’s intricate paintings that explore the relationship between humans, animals, and the environment through the visual language of Gond art. The works feature symbolic patterns and motifs where trees represent life-giving forces, animals appear as protectors, and landscapes reflect myth and memory.
Born in 1981 in Patangarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tekam works primarily with acrylic on paper and canvas. His compositions employ the detailed patterns and textures characteristic of Gond artistic tradition, depicting the interconnectedness of living beings and the natural world. He has participated in multiple exhibitions and cultural showcases across India.

According to curator Jas Karan Gupta, the exhibition “celebrates the continuity of India’s living traditions while situating them within a contemporary artistic dialogue—where ancient wisdom finds new resonance through modern expression.”
Indian Arts Corner, which is presenting the exhibition, traces its origins to 1936 when Chiranji Lal Gupta established a business focused on India’s artistic heritage. The enterprise formally became Indian Arts Corner in 1959 and has since expanded internationally. Now in its fourth generation under Jas Karan Gupta’s direction, the gallery focuses on indigenous art practices including Warli, Bhil, Gond, Madhubani, and Pichvai traditions.
The exhibition runs daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Entry is free and open to the public, with wheelchair accessibility available at the venue on Lodhi Road.
