Art Exposure in Kolkata opens its month long exhibition of the collected works on Indian artists like Rabindranath Tagore, Amrita Sher-Gil, F.N. Souza.

Art Exposure is excited to announce its upcoming exhibition, Indian Modern Art: Evolution of Narratives, a landmark survey that brings together a dynamic and wide-ranging assembly of artists whose practices trace the shifting contours of modern Indian art.
The ongoing exhibition is live till 15th June 2025 at the gallery space in Kolkata.

Spanning from the early 20th-century revivalist aspirations of the Bengal School to the assertive individualisms of late-century modernists, the exhibition explores how artists redefined tradition, form, and identity in response to evolving political, social, and aesthetic contexts.

Modernism in India

Indian Modern Art: Evolution of Narratives is both a tribute and an inquiry—a way of looking at how modernism in India emerged not from rupture, but from a deep and complex dialogue with history, tradition, and lived experience,

says Somak Mitra, Founder and Director of Art Exposure.
