The Lalit Kala Akademi has announced the call for submissions for the 3rd Print Biennale India 2025-26, an international exhibition celebrating the art of printmaking. The prestigious event will be held at the Akademi’s Regional Centre in Kolkata, marking another milestone in India’s contemporary art landscape.
Global Platform for Printmakers
The biennial exhibition aims to create an interactive global platform for printmaking, fostering international artistic exchange and academic dialogue. Artists from around the world are invited to participate in this celebration of print and print-related art, showcasing the diversity and vitality of the medium.
Submission Guidelines
Professional artists aged 25 years and above as of January 1, 2025, are eligible to participate. Each artist may submit up to three original prints created after 2022. The works must not have received awards in any previous exhibitions.
Entry Fees:
- International artists: $50 USD
- SAARC & ASEAN countries: ₹1,500
- Indian artists: ₹1,000
Technical Requirements:
- All printmaking techniques accepted (traditional, contemporary, or mixed-media)
- Size: Minimum 30cm × 30cm, Maximum 122cm × 152cm
- Maximum depth: 5cm
- Works must be unmounted and rolled in strong mailing tubes
Selection Process and Awards
An international jury will conduct a two-tier selection process, first shortlisting works for exhibition, then selecting award winners. Five Grand Prizes of ₹2,00,000 each will be awarded by Lalit Kala Akademi, with additional Honourable Mentions at the jury’s discretion.
Award recipients will be invited to the inaugural function to receive their recognition.
