Paper Alchemy: Tracing Memories Through Time, will be on view at Bikaner House, New Delhi, with a preview on April 25 at 6 PM.

This landmark exhibition curated by Sonali Batra marks the first-ever unveiling of Great Banyan Art’s private collection of works on paper, featuring over 100 rare and exceptional pieces spanning the 18th to 21st centuries. Paper Alchemy explores the transformative role of paper in Indian art—tracing its journey from Orientalist aquatints and the Company School to the Bengal School, the Progressive Artists’ Group, and contemporary Indian artists. The exhibition highlights how this delicate yet enduring medium has been a site of innovation, storytelling, and cultural memory for generations of artists.
