NFT art refers to digital artworks that are tokenized using blockchain technology, making them one-of-a-kind and verifiably scarce. In recent years we often hear news of some NFT artist whose artwork sold for millions. If you are interested in getting to know few of the top selling artists in the NFT art genre, we have compiled a list of 11 famed NFT artists below:

1.Beeple

Following the historic sale of his piece “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” for $69,346,250, Beeple, also known as Mike Winkelmann, rose to the position of best-selling NFT artist. He gained attention from the general public and became the first artist whose NFT was sold at a reputable auction house. On his Instagram, Beeple continues to produce and upload daily digital works that display a variety of realistic and occasionally politically charged artwork.

2. XCOPY

Digital artist and cryptocurrency enthusiast XCopy, who is based in London, has sold 9,575 NFT works to generate a total artwork value of $65,624,828.65. The work of XCopy, known for their gloomy and apocalyptic themes, frequently features looping and flashing graphics, occasionally accompanied with epilepsy warnings. Notably, their “All Time High in the City” Super Rare artwork, which depicts Charon, the fabled ferryman of the Underworld, sold for $1,987,556.80.

By selling 6,074 NFTs, Canadian-born artist Trevor Jones, who now resides in Scotland, has generated a total artwork value of $23,666,702.54. Jones, who is well-known for exploring the relationship between art and technology, has worked with well-known individuals in the NFT field. His most popular work, “Genesis,” which he co-created with José Delbo, a comic book artist, shows an animated painting of Batman’s sketch and fetched $368,856.40 at auction.

4. Fewocious

Teenage pop surrealist digital artist Fewocious has sold 3,189 NFTs, generating a total artwork value of $28,725,952.63. His highest-recorded sale was for a piece titled “Nice to Meet You, I’m Mr. MiSUNDERSTOOD,” which featured a character who was sobbing and was surrounded by brilliant swatches that reminded one of a children’s show. He was known for his unusual style and vibrant creations.

5. Snowfro

Through the sale of 7,777 pieces, Snowfro, the creator of Art Block, a generative art platform for NFTs, has amassed a total artwork value of $101,063,400.31. His most expensive work, from the Chromie Squiggle collection, brought in $8,129.59 and has a distinctive squiggly line that captures the spirit of Art Blocks. The collection’s individual pieces each bear Snowfro’s unique signature as an artist and developer.

6. TylerXHobbs

Through the sale of 1,018 NFTs, visual artist Tyler Hobbs, recognised for his work with algorithms, plotters, and paint, has amassed a total artwork value of $79,565,541.91. His best-selling work, “Incomplete Control,” tackles the idea of embracing flaws and individuality and resembles museum exhibits.

7. Dmitri Cherniak

With the sale of 924 NFTs, abstract and geometric artist Dmitri Cherniak generated a total artwork value of $67,064,172.30. Their most expensive work, “Self Portrait #1,” a futuristic and technologically influenced interpretation of traditional modern art, sold for $2,682,000.00.

8. Monica Rizzolli

Through the sale of her NFTs, Monica Rizzolli, who is best known for her Fragments of an Infinite Field collection, has amassed a total artwork value of $17,298,857.30. Her most expensive NFT sold for $11,480.65, illustrating the many variables in her work and the impact of seasons on her creations. Her work is based on floral patterns and nature-inspired motifs.

Through the selling of his NFTs on Instagram, Micah Johnson, a former Major League Baseball player, has generated a total artwork value of $22,706,797.38. His work “S-V(-)RN-T” from the well-known series “Aku: The Moon God,” which features sculptures and digital art showing a young child as an astronaut, sold for $305,187.50. Johnson’s art strives to uplift and encourage the black community, and proceeds from “S-V(-)R-N-T” will help a young child named Rayden realise his aspirations when he turns 18 years old.

His most expensive work, “Meridian,” which displays landforms made from precise colour strokes and sold for $14,427.69, uses exquisite colour strokes.

His artwork integrates music, image, and algorithms and features three-dimensional algorithmic images and visuals that are inspired by space. His paintings typically sell for $7,610.09, while significant ones like “Pigments,” which explores colour and spatial distortion through animated experiences, retail for $11,429.50.
